Have your new pet cared for by the practice that is there for you 24/7
Getting a new pet can be both exciting and daunting; in some cases the baby animal you choose will require as much care as a baby human. It’s important you do everything you can to give the new addition to your family the best start in life. At Ambivet we recommend that all puppies, kittens and young rabbits are brought to see us once a month until they’re 6 months old. As well as allowing our professionals to monitor your young pet’s developnt, this also allows us to spot potential problems at an early stage.
“Bringing your pet to see us regularly is a great way of getting your companion used to a veterinary environment, making future visits easier and stress free.”
– Jane Watson
A vaccination is an injection given to pets to protect them against nasty conditions. A baby animal will require a primary course of injections, and then not need any more until their yearly ‘booster’ is due.
Puppies should receive their first vaccination around 6-8 weeks old. They can be vaccinated against:
- Canine Parvovirus
- Canine Distemper Virus
- Infectious Canine Hepatitis
- Kennel Cough
Kittens should receive their first vaccination around 9 weeks of age and their second 3 weeks later. They can be vaccinated against:
- Cat Flu Viruses
- Infectious Enteritis
- Feline Leukaemia Virus
The good news is that we are committed to offering excellent value preventative treatments and vaccinations. Puppy and Kitten courses cost from £30.00 and Dog/Cat boosters from £20.00.
